Every entrepreneur wants to generate quality leads and get loyal customers. The key question becomes, how do you attract them? I guess, your answer could be: “with powerful content”. I would say the same thing. The next question is, how do you create unique content that attracts the right audience? Read this article to discover how earning people’s attention with valuable content is the best strategy for lead generation.
The answer to fix something lays in knowing what’s broken. So, if your carefully crafted blog content remains seen by no one, what do you do? Exactly, you look at the problem.
Let’s do that together now.
Imagine for a second that your readers are almost dying to read your next blog post. Too much, you say. Let’s assume they are hungry for your content. Sounds better? What exactly makes them hungry?
Craft attention grabbing content for lead generation success
What makes your audience hungry for powerful content? I bet if they struggle to get business results, they most definitely want your insightful content. You might have a blog, but do you have a plan to grab your customer’s attention. Do you have a system to discover what’s keeping your customers awake at night or jump for joy in the morning? If you’re clueless on the words they use to search for solutions, you won’t get their attention. Without their attention your lead generation system won’t work!
So, to find those words, you need keyword research. But before, you start analyzing words related to your products or services, think first: what exactly are you selling? Do you know what your customers want? If not, how can you sell it to them?
Fortunately, a few smart people have figured out a couple of things about your customers’ brain. Your customers’ behavior is still guided by their emotions. Not slowly or gradually, but in a split second. Their gut feeling tells them what to do. Why? Because, hope, dreams, passion, desires, fear, frustrations, problems and pain are undoubtedly conditions that generate business. These emotions are the main drivers of our buying behavior. And it’s universal, so it works the same for your customers!
Do I still have your attention? Good! You have to know how emotions will help you grab the attention of your customers! Think about this for a while. Not too long, because attention spans are short!
Work on social proof
Digg deep and learn, truly get it, what it takes to grab your customer’s attention. Understand what it takes to hold it for weeks, months or even years. Because, there’s a whopping amount of effort you have to put into this, before they finally click the pay button or hire you for what ever service you offer. That’s the span of attention you need to bridge. Don’t give up! The entrepreneurs that succeed are the ones that show commitment. A majestic drive to make it work.
Imagine you have people’s attention because you connected to their emotional relevance. What if their inner voice still says “no”? You need to make their friends say yes. Social proof (pressure) will persuade them in a friendly way to buy from you. Be aware of your customer’s resistance points! People have to know you, like you and trust you, before they say yes to your offers.
Just think about this. What would you do if you are not sure about something? I assume you’d ask your family, friends or spouse for advice. That’s why customer relationships matter. People who desperately seek results, will most likely ask their family or close friends for advice.
Takeaway: earning people’s attention as an entrepreneur or marketer is hard work. Valuable content is only the start. Yes, you have to know what keeps your target audience awake or arises their excitement. Especially if they read your blog posts. But, that’s not enough to generate leads and convert them into paying customers. Let me assure you that I speak from experience. You genuinely need to understand what people want and then sell them what they need! Make sure you build social proof to gently persuade them to choose you. I hope to see you next week. I’ll share what else you need for your lead generation system success.
