7 Content Rules to make Customers Only Want to Hire You!

cater to needsHave you ever wondered how to get more buying traffic? Look no further! Read this article to learn 7 nifty content rules to make your target audience only want to hire you!

Every business opportunity starts with fulfilling a need. If there is no market, you’ll have zero business.

Start by making it crystal clear what you have to offer. What exactly do your customers get when they hire you or buy your products? Think in terms of “more time freedom, less frustration, lower costs per lead, higher conversion rates, confidence, etc…”.  Next, craft these desirable results into compelling pieces of content.

To become a BIG success, follow these 7 content rules:

#1 Offer Content that Caters to a Need

What is it that people truly want? How about this: to be loved, noticed, matter, save time, save money, earn money, have fun, enjoy life, freedom, be entertained, surprised, be connected, inspired, create things, generate new ideas, create something sensational, be exceptionally nifty at something or have nothing to worry about!

You seriously have to understand what it is that your target audience wants and then go fulfill that need.

Imagine that a young women wants to create her own business. She’s thinking about a jewelry shop. She wants to have a thriving local store. What she needs is profit clarity, a website that stands out, a clear communication strategy, list building system set in place, some great pieces of jewelry that practically sell themselves and killer marketing.

# 2 Craft Headlines that Matter to Your Leads

As social networks have transformed the way we do business, content has become the new currency. Create content that matters to your quality leads. Let needs inspire you to write some killer headlines. To follow-up on the previous example at rule #1, here are some headline drafts:

Let’s move on to rule #3!

#3 Have a Clear Content Creation Plan

Each content strategy success depends on creativity, discipline and planning. Set your own deadlines for blog posts and stick to them. Read a lot of other posts to develop ideas and improve your own creativity. Be consistent and post regularly (at least 1 post per week). Quick Tip: use a clear excel sheet for your content creation plan, enter your keywords (themes) in the rows and add weeks in the columns.

#4 Follow some basic Content Guidelines

Craft content with at least 500 to 750 words (Google Juice). Use only professional images (I highly recommend istockphoto.com). Add specific keywords to keep the search engine happy. But don’t add more than 5 keywords per 100 words in your text, or you’ll meet Google’s SEO police.

Start your posts with a question, describe a nasty problem or an irresistible desire. Start writing and never stop again: practice still makes perfect. Tap into the deep insights of Google Search. Just do a Google search with your headline and see what competition comes up, the number of searches for specific keywords and what other related content shows up (Yes, I know about the Keyword tools, but this is just my little ninja trick).

#5 Produce a Content Promotion Plan

Content Creation is King, Effective Content Promotion is Queen (Mari Smith’s peeps will appreciate this). Once you know where your audience hangs out and when, you can start producing a content promotion plan. If you are clear on your who (audience), you should now decide on your “what, when, where and how”. To get you started, here are some basic ideas:

-what: blog post, video, audio, photo or links;

-when: every week on Thursday, specific holiday, Mother’s Day,

-where: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest

-how: manually, prescheduled, team

#6 Build your List with Content

Content drives your target audience to your central hub (blog site). Welcome your readers with a Clear Call to Action to leave their names and e-mail address in a simple sign up form. Create weekly news letters and share them via an Email Service Provider to start building a strong relationship with your quality audience.

#7 Monitor the Impact of Your Most Engaging Content

increase revenue

Marketing without measuring the results is a pointless waste of your valuable time! There are tons of tools to track your results. IMO, the 2 most relevant questions are:

  1. What are your key performance indicators?
  2. What are these numbers telling you?

Take Away: Marketing is the life blood of your business. In today’s social world, content is the new relationship marketing currency. Make sure you tap into the needs of your customers. Listen fully, deeply and honestly and craft pieces of content that cater to their problems and desires. Keep doing this, -frequently and consistently- and you’ll make your customers only want to hire you!
